Shipyard IPA is brewed by the Shipyard Brewing Co. out of Maine in the United States and is an English IPA. The beer weighs in at 5.8 ABV which is quite modest. I have to say though, while looking for information on this one I wasn't able to find a definite IBU rating, either on the bottle itself or online. If you happen to know, please tell me in the comments because I'd be interested to know. It gets a decent beer advocate score of 75.
Ah, the smell! Very nice citrusy, light hoppy smells and clean breaded scents fill the nose with this one. Maybe light honey/sweet caramel too, I have a slightly stuffy nose so you'll have to forgive me!
Poured, this beer has a nice amber colouring and a short off-white head to it, leaves a little nice lacing.
Now on to the taste! After all isn't that what beer is for? The bready malts hit the tongue first, with the sweetness of the citrus following in the light hoppiness and dry finish. The carbonation isn't overpowering and overall this is a medium bodied beer. Very drinkable but not as hoppy as I was expecting, honestly.
My verdict on this one? I think it's very good honestly. Not particularly hoppy overall so maybe it's not surprising I couldn't find an IBU rating (again please correct me in the comments if you happen to know!). I could see myself drinking this more often and seeing as it's available at several local supermarkets and is much better than last time's disappointment I think I'll do just that! Thumbs up!

Until next time, happy drinking!
