Getting back onto more food related things in this first of what should be regular Wednesday updates, I'll be taking a look at two things here today, both of which I've never tried before, though I did see the pizza a while back before I was doing this and didn't have any reason to try it.
So without further ado, let's take a look at Gummi Zone Pizza!
So without further ado, let's take a look at Gummi Zone Pizza!
As you can see, the package contains 6 slices of "pizza" with added fruit juice! Yummy, I can't wait. Incidentally, because you can't tell from the photo, the package itself is only about 2 inches across. Well, let's tear it open and see what delicious treat awaits within, shall we?
There we are! Slightly mouldy-looking, gummy pizza slices. Looks just like you'd get from your local Domino's! I don't know about real fruit juice, when I opened this the smell that hit me was so artificial and sickly sweet I had to move the pack away from my face to avoid breathing it in.
I also discovered with my particular pack, and I'm not sure if this is the case with all of them, that most of the pizza slices had gone a little bit dry and had that odd rough feel to them that gummies get when they are starting to go off. There was however one slice which actually looked and felt like a gummy, so I ate that one.
At first I thought, "oh great, this is one of those extra chewy, tasteless gummies that I hate", but the more I chewed, the more actual flavour came forward and the nicer it actually tasted. It's chewy, not as much as, say, a haribo gummy, however. The taste isn't all that bad, I have to say. I certainly wouldn't go out and buy another one, but this isn't the worst tasting cheap gummy sweet I've ever eaten. That's the biggest endorsement I can give it right there.
Now, onto item number two, Muddy Bears!

What more can I say, really? I'd never seen these before, they were in the imported section of my local sweet/candy shop, so maybe if you're from the US you've seen these around, I don't know. They are gummi bears apparently covered in milk chocolate. I had to see if these were good or not. Let's see what they look like:
Yep, that's them alright! They look nothing like gummi bears to me. I thought about nibbling the chocolate off one of them and taking a picture to show you that they are in fact what they claim, but then I realised how disgusting that was and didn't bother. :-P
As for how they taste? Well, the chocolate coating is definitely more akin to a chocolate flavoured coating rather than actual chocolate, which is a shame, but not inedible. It could never taste as nice as real chocolate. The chocolate doesn't add anything to the gummy and instead makes a very weird contrasting flavour which doesn't mix well in the mouth. The chocolate part tastes fine (if disappointing), the gummy tastes fine, but the combination of the two tastes bizarre. I noticed that certain flavours of gummy made it either tolerable, or taste much worse. The only real problem there is, you can't pick out the ones that will taste nice because they all look the same!
Well colour me surprised, I was expecting this to be the nicer of the two gummies I picked up to be honest but it tastes too weird for me to say it's good really. Saying that I can see myself finishing these, unlike the dried up gummy pizza, so I suppose that's one thing.
Now, before I head on out for today, I have a small "bonus" item I grabbed recently and just wanted to quickly tell you about.

Milk flavour chews! I saw these for the first time ever recently and grabbed them on a whim. If you see these, get some, they're really very nice! That is all!
